Ossie Ardiles claims that the major difference between Tottenham and Real Madrid on Wednesday night was the togetherness of the Spurs players compared to the ‘collection of individuals’ in the Spanish side.
Mauricio Pochettino masterminded a historic 3-1 win against Real at Wembley which booked his side’s spot in the knock-out rounds of the Champions League in the New Year.
A Dele Alli brace and a neat finish from Christian Eriksen handed Spurs a fantastic win in which they completely dominated the reigning European champions.
Spurs legend Ardiles has hailed the team effort of his former side against Los Blancos while aiming a slight dig at the La Liga giants at the same time.
“The difference: we were a team. Fighting for each other. Helping. Going the extra mile. Real: a collection of very talented individuals,” he said on his personal Twitter account on Thursday morning.

Tottenham are guaranteed to finish in the top two of their group after Borussia Dortmund and APOEL Nicosia drew with one another in the other game on Wednesday night.
Spurs were largely thought to have been handed the ‘group of death’ with reigning champions Real and Bundesliga heavweights Dortmund, but so far the North London side has passed every test thrown their way.
Next up for Pochettino and his men is a return to Premier League action against London rivals Crystal Palace at Wembley before a two week break for internationals.
In other Tottenham news, a BBC pundit has made a huge claim about this Spurs defender from the win against Madrid.
