Ossie Ardiles believes that Tottenham will beat Chelsea if they play their best football on Wednesday night.

Spurs host their London rivals in the Premier League and the two clubs have been involved in some fiery encounters in recent seasons.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will move up to third in the Premier League table with a victory, while opponents Chelsea will go eight points clear at the summit and set a division record of 14 consecutive victories.

Spurs have also been in good form though and have won their last two matches 4-1 over Watford and Southampton respectively.

Ex-Spurs star Ardiles admits that Chelsea are playing well right now, but has tipped his former side to win if they play to their high standard.

“We play our football, we will prevail,” Ardiles wrote on his personal Twitter account.

Spurs have been boosted by the return of Kyle Walker and Jan Vertonghen from suspension, with the pair expected to return to the starting line-up.

The club’s attackers have also struck good form in recent weeks, with Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen all looking impressive in front of goal.

Chelsea edged the previous meeting this season 2-1 at Stamford Bridge and have been in sensational form.

However, Spurs are viewed as one of their main competitors for the title and they will be keen for revenge on Wednesday.
