Ousmane Dembele reacts to ‘ready’ message from new Brighton signing
PSG star Ousmane Dembele has reacted to a message from a new Brighton signing as the Seagulls look to bolster their squad after sales.
Brighton have been lauded for their successful transfer business over recent seasons, and they have been able to remain competitive in the top-flight despite a number of high-profile departures over the years.
Their latest sale has seen highly-rated forward Joao Pedro join Chelsea in a deal worth £60million [BBC], but they have already been busy replacing him with Charalampous Kostoulas recently signed from Olympiacos.
The Seagulls’ business shows no signs of slowing down this summer, with Football Insider recently revealing that Brighton have placed a £28m price-tag on young striker Evan Ferguson amid interest from Everton, Nottingham Forest and Fulham.
Fabian Hurzeler is still looking to bolster his squad ahead of next season though, and a new recruit has sent a message to their supporters after his arrival was confirmed on Wednesday (2 July).

Olivier Boscagli sends Brighton message after joining from PSV
Brighton announced their fifth signing of the summer so far on Wednesday (2 July), with French defender Olivier Boscagli joining on a free transfer after recently departing PSV Eindhoven, and they took to Instagram, saying: “We are delighted to confirm the signing of defender Olivier Boscagli on a five-year contract, subject to (Premier League) and FA approval.”
Boscagli himself soon took to the site with his own post following his arrival, with a positive message that read: “Happy to announce my signature in (Brighton)! A new chapter opens, ready to take on this new challenge, filled with ambition, determination and desire! Let’s get started !”
The versatile 27-year-old’s message was reacted to by PSG star Dembele, who liked the post, with the pair having played together in age-group squads for the French national team.
Cody Gakpo, Malang Sarr and Malik Tillman all also liked his post, while previous Newcastle United target and current PSV forward Johan Bakayoko commented: “Le meilleur boss,” which translates to “The best boss.”
Boscagli is a smart signing for Brighton amid Igor Julio interest
Football Insider verdict
Brighton enjoyed another great Premier League campaign in 2024/25, but when they did struggle, it was largely in defence as they were on the end of thrashings by Chelsea, Brentford and Nottingham Forest, who beat them 7-0 in February.

It is, then, understandable as to why 32-year-old boss Hurzeler has looked to add to his defensive ranks this summer, with Boscagli the second defender signed after Diego Coppola from Hellas Verona.
The Frenchman is an experienced defender who has regularly featured in the Champions League and Europa League with PSV, while he has played in a top European league in his time with OGC Nice in Ligue 1.
Not only is he a smart signing, but his capture makes more sense considering the fact that the Seagulls could lose highly-rated centre-back Igor Julio this summer amid apparent interest from Real Sociedad, according to Spanish outlet AS.
