Paul Robinson showered Rangers attacker Ryan Kent with praise following his performance in the 3-1 win over Hamilton on Sunday.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the former England No.1 described Kent as a modern-day footballer due to him being able to play in a range of positions before praising his technique.

Kent scored a brace against Hamilton in order to register his first goals of the season with his manager Steven Gerrard describing his left-footed strike from range as world-class.

Gerrard also claimed that Kent wasn’t 100% match sharp after his recent hamstring injury which prompted Robinson to share that he believes there must be more to come from the 23-year-old if that’s the case.

When asked about Kent’s performance against Hamilton, Robinson told Football Insider: “With Ryan Kent’s performance, if he wasn’t a 100% fit then there is more to come from him when he is.

“He was in the Scottish team of the year last season and it looks like a very shrewd signing by Gerrard as Kent has done his time out on loan, his fifth loan out from Liverpool was Rangers, then he signed him.

“So he has played league football, he knows what it takes to play at the highest level, and with Kent there’s obviously more to come.

“He has very good technique, he is very comfortable with the ball as you’d expect, as a lot of players who come out of Liverpool’s academy are.

“He’s the modern-day footballer as he can play in a lot of positions, he is very comfortable with the ball at his feet, and his pass accuracy is outstanding and as I’ve said before if Steven can keep hold of him, he’ll be a very good asset in the years to come.”

Kent has made eight appearances this season for the Gers but is yet to complete 90 minutes since returning from injury.

The 23-year-old spent his 2018/19 season on loan at Ibrox, before the club opted to sign him permanently from Liverpool in the summer, and in that campaign, he scored six goals while registering nine assists.

In other Rangers news, it can be REVEALED that the club have offered an electrifying player a three-year deal that includes a major pay hike.
