Mesut Ozil has been “very impressive” in training this week as Arsenal prepare for Sunday’s showdown against Leicester, Football Insider sources understand.
The German playmaker has been able to play at full throttle in practice after recovering from the minor foot injury that bothered him for much of January.
An Arsenal source has told Football Insider that Ozil looks back to his best and “very impressive” ahead of the Premier League top-of-the-table clash at Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
Ozil scored Arsenal’s opener in their 2-0 win at Bournemouth last weekend after a fine display in their goal-less draw against Southampton a few days earlier.
But he has not quite returned to his sublime form in November and December, when he was the league’s most creative player, providing an incredible 16 assists before the turn of the year.

Reports in Spain have claimed that the Germany World Cup winner has rejected the offer of a new Arsenal deal, with Barcelona keen to sign the 27-year-old.
However, a well-placed source has told Football Insider that preliminary talks on a contract extension have progressed well and all parties are confident it will result in Ozil extending his stay at the club.
