Mesut Ozil was involved in a tunnel bust-up in the immediate aftermath of Tottenham’s win over Arsenal on Sunday, according to a report.
The Telegraph claim the Gunners playmaker flew into a rage after being told he must take a routine drugs test following the final north London derby at White Hart Lane.
It is said that a furious Ozil initially refused to go through the procedure as he complained at the number of times he has been targeted this season.
The Telegraph cite witnesses claiming that after being told he could be fined, Ozil kicked a door in frustration, leaving his stud marks on it, before begrudgingly agreeing to be tested.
The outburst from the German points at a wider frustration at the end of a campaign that has been a massive disappointment for player and club.
It has been played out to a backdrop of uncertainty over the future of the 28-year-old, who is stalling on a new contract offer.
There have been reports that Ozil, who has a year remaining on his current £140,000-a-week deal, is holding out for a mega contract that will double his wages.
Yet his performance on Sunday, as Spurs brushed Arsenal aside with a convincing 2-0 win on Sunday to ensure they will finish above their bitter rivals for the first time in 22 years, did little to suggest he is worth such an investment by the club.
Ozil was once again anonymous in a marquee match, as he struggles to recapture his form of last season, the best of his four campaigns at Arsenal.
The playmaker has scored 11 goals and provided 11 assists in 38 matches in all competitions this a season, although his critics claim his best performances comes against the weaker teams.
In other Tottenham transfer news, the club have sensationally terminated the contract of one of their defenders.
