Pablo Fornals among West Ham trio slammed after 'terrible' claim - expert
Noel Whelan has slammed the West Ham set-piece takers after Thursday night’s 2-1 defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted Moyes would be “massively” disappointed with the deliveries from the likes of Pablo Fornals and Aaron Cresswell.
Speaking at his press conference on Thursday night, Moyes confessed his side had a “terrible night” when it came to set plays.
Cresswell, Fornals (3 taken each) and Jarrod Bowen (2) were on corner duty for the Irons.
Whelan insisted the trio let their teammates down with poor service from dead-ball situations.
Asked how disappointed he thought Moyes would be, Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “Massively. You’re at home, set pieces have been one of the keys to your success over the last couple of seasons.

“You’ve got big players in your side, Soucek and Zouma are out there, so delivery is key. That quality that we know they have just wasn’t there last night.
“You’re missing a goalscoring opportunity when that delivery isn’t right. Every time you got a set-piece, a corner, a free-kick outside the box, you’re missing an opportunity of scoring because the quality isn’t good enough on the delivery.”
Frankfurt scored in the opening minute to peg West Ham back in front of their own fans.
Michail Antonio levelled the scores just after the 20-minute mark but Daichi Kamada netted nine minutes after half time.
The Irons face Arsenal on Sunday before travelling to Germany for the second leg of the semi-final tie.
