Hernandez on Leeds teammates: 25-year-old has surprised me, midfielder is destined for PL

Pablo Hernandez has revealed he has been “surprised” by the impact Chris Wood has made at Leeds this season.
The Spanish maestro has also predicted that teenage midfielder Ronaldo Vieira is destined for the Premier League.
Hernandez namechecked the Leeds duo as two key men as he ran the rule over his teammates in a feature in Spanish publication Marca about the reawakening of one of England’s biggest clubs.
The attacking midfielder has been an integral figure in Leeds’ transformation from mid-table mediocrities to genuine promotion challengers following some inspired recruitment last summer by manager Garry Monk and his assistant Pep Clotet.
Eleven new players were signed on loan or permanently, and many have been instant hits, including the likes of Pablo Jansson, Luke Ayling, Hadi Sacko and Kyle Bartley.

But Hernandez explained that two players who were already on the Leeds books have caught his eye.
“We have good youngsters, like Ronaldo Vieira, who has just turned 18 and who will play soon in the Premier League, or like Chris Wood, this year he has 20 goals and surprised me,” said Hernandez to Spanish publication Marca.
Wood, 25, is the second leading scorer in the Championship, with a haul of 19 league goals putting him second only to Newcastle’s Dwight Gayle.
In all competitions, the Leeds spearhead has netted an impressive 22 goals from 36 matches.
Academy product Vieira, 18, had made only one appearance for the club before this season but has made huge strides to nail down a regular place in central midfield.
