Celtic mainstay must be offloaded, Hearts nightmare latest in long line of horror shows
In the aftermath of Celtic’s nightmare 4-0 defeat to Hearts which saw the club’s unbeaten domestic record end at 69 games, one of the most notable aspects would be the criticism levelled at Jozo Simunovic.
The 23-year-old first-team mainstay had an appalling game, arguably being at fault for two of Hearts’ goals.
The performance was the latest in a series of horrow shows by the player, he was similarly bad against both Hamilton and Hibs.
It’s a far cry from the performance the player turned in when Celtic won 3-0 against Anderlecht in September.
The player obviously has talent, and hopefully these performances are just a blip, but perhaps the player could do with a spell on the bench at the moment, then be offloaded at the end of the season.

There will most likely be clubs interested in the player as when he’s at his best he’s a very tough player to play against.
Despite Simunovic signing a new contract at Celtic earlier this season, there has always been a feeling that the player hasn’t always been committed to the Bhoys – indeed he almost left to join Torino at the end of the August 2016 transfer window.
His chronic injury problems haven’t helped the situation, but there is a good player there in Simunovic – it just might not be seen in Glasgow.
With Brendan Rodgers set to bring new central-defenders in in January, perhaps the end of the season is the right time for Simunovic and Celtic to part ways.
