Pascal Struijk and Joel Piroe react to Largie Ramazani’s Leeds ownership message

Leeds United’s promotion and Championship title celebrations have seen several of this season’s fringe players come to the fore.

Daniel Farke has steered the Whites back to the Premier League at the second attempt with a 100-point, 95-goal haul this season, with Burnley beaten to first place by way of Leeds‘ superior goal difference.

Leeds have used 28 players throughout their 46-game Championship campaign, three of whom were either loaned out or sold in-season, but Farke has arguably expressed favouritism for some of his squad.

The German came under increased pressure before he eventually axed Illan Meslier between the sticks at Elland Road, while Dan James and Manor Solomon have long since been his preferred duo out wide.

Ramazani re-affirms Leeds credentials amid title parade

Signed from Almeria for £10million last August, Ramazani’s debut season at Elland Road may have ended in glory but has been by no means straight-forward, with the Belgian limited to 29 league appearances.

Ramazani has started just seven Championship matches and been brought off the bench 22 times – with only Mateo Joseph a substitute more often – while Farke has publicly demanded more from the winger.

However, Ramazani responded in the final weeks of the season, and came off the bench to score a brace against Bristol City in Leeds’ penultimate match which capped off a 4-0 win to put them on the brink of the title.

After Farke’s squad celebrated their success in the form of an open-top bus tour around the centre of Leeds on Monday, Ramazani posted on Instagram (6 May) with the caption: “It’s a parade inside my city.”

Pascal Struijk responded to call Ramazani’s part in the celebrations “movie life”, while Joel Piroe called Ramazani; “my boy”, as both forwards prepare to face off against some of the world’s best defences.

Leeds littered with Premier League wingers after Ramazani revival

With their Premier League place signed and sealed, attention at Elland Road will turn to United’s exploits in the transfer market, given Leeds officials only see six of their players as ready to start in the top-flight.

However, Farke won’t need to strengthen much is out wide, with Ramazani, Willy Gnonto and Dan James all under contract; the latter “robbed” of the Championship Player of the Year award in the eyes of many.

Solomon is one of the six players whom Football Insider were told are good enough to earn Premier League starts, and while his loan spell at Elland Road has now concluded, Leeds will be desperate for him to return.
