Pascal Struijk reacts instantly to controversial Leeds win at Middlesbrough
Leeds United centre-back Pascal Struijk has taken to social media to react after missing out on his side’s clash with Middlesbrough.
Daniel Farke‘s side made the trip to the Riverside Stadium on Tuesday night (8 April) for a key game in the promotion race.
Leeds claimed a 1-0 win over Middlesbrough in that match, which has seen them move back to the top of the Championship table.
Dan James‘ second minute goal was enough to secure all three points for the Whites, ensuring they avoided some significant controversy.
Leeds had two goals, by Ao Tanaka and Patrick Bamford, incorrectly ruled out for offside against Middlesbrough, which would have caused plenty of frustration had they not taken all three points from that game.
As it was, Struijk has still been able to celebrate a big three points for his current side thanks to that early goal from James.

After the centre-back was potentially ruled out for the rest of the season through injury, questions have been asked about whether Struijk has played his last game for Leeds as they line up other transfer targets.
For now though, the Dutch international is clearly still keen to show his support for the club as they aim to secure a return to the Premier League.
Leeds last five games | Result |
Millwall (H) | Won 2-0 |
QPR (A) | Drew 2-2 |
Swansea (H) | Drew 2-2 |
Luton (A) | Drew 1-1 |
Middlesbrough (A) | Won 1-0 |
Taking to his Instagram story, Struijk posted an image of the final few seconds of that win for Leeds at Middlesbrough on his television screen.
He then added a blue and white loveheart emoji, and would later also share the club’s full time graphic confirming that victory.
Farke’s side will look to take another step towards promotion on Saturday (12 April), when they host Preston at Elland Road.

Leeds United exit for centre-back would be sad to see
Football Insider Verdict
It is several years now since Struijk first broke into the senior setup at Leeds, during which time he has developed into a key player for the club.
His passion and commitment to the team has also been on show consistently, and he has become a popular figure around Elland Road.
As a result, many connected with the Whites would likely be disappointed if he was to leave at the end of this season, even amid the emergence of other transfer targets.
Indeed, Struijk himself may also be keen to get another shot at the Premier League with Leeds if they can secure promotion, and so his future will be worth keeping an eye on in the coming months.
