Pat Nevin delivers verdict on whether Tottenham can make a late PL title charge
By Amir Mir
Pat Nevin believes it will be a “tall order” for Tottenham to make a late Premier League title charge and catch current leaders Chelsea.
The former Blues winger singled out Spurs’ away form as a reason why they won’t catch their London rivals.
Antonio Conte’s side lead the table by ten points, with second-placed Spurs their nearest challengers followed by Manchester City and Liverpool.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side, who are without their injured striker Harry Kane, recorded a 2-1 home victory against Southampton at the weekend.
That result meant that they are still unbeaten at White Hart Lane this term, but Nevin believes their form on the road is the major problem for them.

“Spurs have some pretty tough fixtures coming up and six of those are away from home,” Nevin told the Daily Star.
“Spurs have won four league games away from White Hart Lane this season, so I am willing to accept it is a rather tall order for them (to catch Chelsea).”
After the international break, Spurs will travel to Sean Dyche’s Burnley who have picked up some very good results in front of their supporters this term.
They beat Champions League chasers Liverpool earlier on in the campaign and halted leaders Chelsea to a 1-1 draw in February.
Pochettino is set to have a tricky run in at the end of the campaign with Arsenal, Crystal Palace, West Ham, Manchester United and Hull awaiting them for the last five matches of the season.
Those encounters will be against teams that are either looking to survive relegation, they are their London rivals or fellow Champions League chasers.
