‘Pathetic’ – Tottenham fans destroy Richarlison for what he kept doing in 4-2 loss to Brighton
Many Tottenham fans have hammered Richarlison for being frequently caught offside in their loss to Brighton on Thursday (28 December).
In a typically entertaining Spurs game, Ange Postecoglou’s side were on the receiving end of a 4-2 thumping from Roberto De Zerbi’s men at the Amex.
The Lilywhites were 4-0 down in the 75th minute after Jack Hinshelwood’s early strike, a brace of penalties for Joao Pedro and a screamer from Pervis Estupinan.
The away side could have had a fighting chance against the ruthless Seagulls if Richarlison could just keep himself onside.
The Brazilian found the net twice from an illegal position – his first just after the break and his second just moments before Estupinan unleashed his rocket in the 63rd minute.
Richarlison struggled across the game before Postecoglou hauled him off in the 65th minute after he managed just 10 accurate passes, three shots, no successful dribbles and a measly 26 touches.
He has been in his best goalscoring form for Spurs in recent weeks after notching four goals in the last three Premier League matches, but fans fear that the old Richarlison could be back.
They have taken to social media and urged the forward to have a look at the rules of the game and familiarise himself with what offside means.
