Patrick Bamford ‘frustrated’ as Leeds exit followed by Frank Lampard snub
Patrick Bamford will be furious that he hasn’t been offered the opportunity to play for Coventry on a permanent basis after training under Frank Lampard.
Bamford has been improving his fitness levels at Coventry after his contract was terminated by mutual consent by Leeds in the summer.
His availability has seen links to moves out of England, with sources telling Football Insider that Bamford could head to the MLS.
Coventry would only consider signing Bamford if an injury crisis ensued up top, pushing him towards urgently finding a new club soon.

Coventry don’t want to sign Bamford as he works on opening new opportunities in the ‘next few weeks’
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the Englishman is struggling in his pursuit of a new permanent club since leaving Elland Road.
Bamford had been in talks to join Celtic, before the club moved in to sign Kelechi Iheanacho.
Speaking on the Inside Track podcast over Lampard‘s disinterest in acquiring the 32-year-old, I explained: “You’ll be hoping that other options open up for himself in the next few weeks, heading into the new year, that he can fix himself up with a new club.

“I’m sure he’s frustrated that he’s not been fixed up with a new club of yet. Right now, it’s not in Coventry’s thinking to sign Bamford.
“They’re just doing it as a favour to him, to maintain fitness, but things can change in football quite quickly, so you just never know.”
Leeds and Coventry to continue recent connection as Daniel Farke eyes up Haji Wright
With the Englishman currently improving his fitness with the Sky Blues, the Whites are intrigued by one of his training colleagues.

Sources told Football Insider that Leeds are monitoring Coventry’s Haji Wright as he continues to go from strength-to-strength under Lampard.
The 27-year-old has netted eight goals in 12 appearances in the Championship this season and is well on course to beat his 2024-25 record of 16 goals in the league.
The Peacocks have struggled for goals in the Premier League and are eager to bolster their frontline in the January transfer window.
