‘Patrick Stewart will sack Philippe Clement on 1st day at Rangers’ – fans react
Patrick Stewart has been told by a number of Rangers fans that his first job as the club’s new CEO should be to sack manager Philippe Clement.
The ‘Gers have been looking for a new CEO since the end of last season, when James Bisgrove departed to take on a role in the Saudi Pro League.
It was confirmed on Monday (25 November) that Stewart is now set to take over that role at Ibrox. He will begin in the position on 16th December 2024, a day after Rangers are due to face Celtic in the Scottish League Cup final at Hampden Park and is expected to immediately have a choice to make on the embattled manager.
Stewart arrives at Ibrox having left Man United at the end of last season, after 18 years working at Old Trafford.
He spent the final few months of his time with the Red Devils working as their interim CEO, so does have some experience of the role he will be taking on in Glasgow.
With that move now confirmed, plenty of Rangers supporters have made it clear what they want to be the first thing Stewart does after he take on that role.

It has been a poor start to the season for the club under Clement. They currently sit third in the Scottish Premiership table, already 11 points behind Celtic, and eight behind Aberdeen.
Even when they have won this season, their performances have been far from convincing, with many fans criticising the Belgian for his decisions during matches.
So with Stewart’s appointment now official and his start date just a few weeks away, many Rangers fans were quick to express their expectation that removing the manager will be the “first thing on the agenda”, and get him “off to a good start”.
