Paul Ince makes worrying Bruno Fernandes and Man United claim: ‘He’s frustrated’

Paul Ince has weighed in on Bruno Fernandes’ frustrations at Manchester United amid speculation surrounding the midfielder’s future.

Fernandes has enjoyed a strong individual campaign at Man United, scoring 19 goals across all competitions.

But his efforts could not prevent the Red Devils from a disastrous 15th-place finish in the Premier League, while Ruben Amorim’s side failed to win silverware.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider that Amorim could be willing to sell Fernandes for a price of £ 80- 100million.

Ince ‘wouldn’t blame’ Fernandes if he leaves Man United

Fernandes’ most recent goal for the Red Devils arrived when he scored a brace against Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League semi-finals on 1 May.

Meanwhile, speaking to talkSPORT [29 May], Ince said: “He’s seen managers come and go, he’s seen things happen at the club. He looks a bit frustrated, he has for the last couple of years, if you ask me.

“Every time you see him, he’s injured or moaning. He looks very frustrated to me at the moment, even though he’s been Man United’s best player this season by far. He can see what’s going on.

“I think it’s a question: ‘Would you blame him if he left?’ Unless Amorim’s prepared to sit him down and say, ‘Listen, this is what we’re planning to do next season, this is who we’re looking to bring in, this is what we’re trying to do.’

“But when you look at where they finished in the league, and you look at the performance in the Europa League final, you wouldn’t blame him if he had reservations about staying.”

Alongside the questions surrounding Fernandes’ future, Brown told Football Insider that Man United could sell Kobbie Mainoo.

Fernandes exit would be highly damaging for Man United

Man United must undergo a rebuild during the summer transfer window after enduring one of the worst seasons in their history this term.

But while they can command a large transfer fee for Fernandes, allowing the Portugal international to leave Old Trafford ahead of next season is not in their best interests.

Although Amorim’s men performed poorly regularly during this campaign, the 30-year-old was a constant shining light in an otherwise poor side.

Alongside his 19 goals, Fernandes also created 18 assists this season, further exemplifying his ability to provide the goods despite United’s lack of firepower from elsewhere.

Furthermore, the former Sporting Club man could prove to link up well with Matheus Cunha, who is set to join Man United from Wolves.

Cunha has proven his worth for the West Midlands outfit, scoring 15 goals and making six assists in 33 Premier League appearances this season.

Meanwhile, Man United are set to part company with Alejandro Garnacho, who has become unhappy with matters under Amorim.
