Paul McGrath has praised Aston Villa ace Jonathan Kodjia ahead of the club’s Championship clash against Wigan on Saturday afternoon.
Club legend McGrath called the 27-year-old striker Villa’s “main man” after a recent run of good form from the Ivory Coast international.
Steve Bruce’s side recorded an impressive 2-0 win against promotion chasers Sheffield Wednesday last Saturday, with Kodjia scoring both goals.
He will be looking to produce that same form against managerless Wigan where he is expected to lead the line.
Former centre-back McGrath sent this message to Villa supporters and Kodjia ahead of their weekend game.
“So proud of what Villa are now showing,” McGrath wrote on his personal Twitter account. “Kodjia, you are now the main man.”

After a run of five consecutive defeats, Villa have now turned their form around and won four of their last five games.
Kodjia has scored four goals during that period, with the sole defeat coming at third-placed Huddersfield on March 7.
During the entire campaign, summer signing Kodjia has scored 15 goals for the club in 33 matches, despite the Midlands outfit struggling to find form or consistency.
The Latics go into this match sitting in the bottom three of the Championship table after they sacked manager Warren Joyce earlier on in the week after a 1-0 against Bristol City.
The last time Wigan picked up three points was at Birmingham City on March 7 and they last won a home match on January 21.
In other Aston Villa news, this BBC pundit has stated that he would sell this star player for £20million in the summer.
