Paul Merson predicts Tottenham v Manchester United, this team will get turned over

By Matt Farr

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has predicted a comfortable win for Tottenham against Manchester United this weekend.

Tottenham host United in the Premier League on Sunday, for what will be their final game at their beloved White Hart Lane home.

But Merson expects Tottenham to mark the landmark occasion with an easy win over their rivals, predicting the visitors to get turned over by a 3-0 scoreline.

In his weekly column for Sky Sports, where he predicts the outcome of the latest Premier League fixtures, he said: “I don’t see anything but a Spurs win here.

“It’s the same situation as last week with Manchester United having a big game on the Thursday night, and they could get turned over here.

“But this game is all about Tottenham for me, it’s the last game at White Hart Lane and it should be a special atmosphere.”

Tottenham will be determined to finish the season on a high after seeing their nine-match winning run in the Premier League come to an abrupt end with defeat to West Ham a week ago.

The defeat also saw them shoulder arms in the Premier League title race, with Chelsea now just one win away from winning the title.

Manchester United, meanwhile, are prioritising safe passage into the Europa League final over their bid to finish in the top four this season.

Therefore, Jose Mourinho may be set to field a weakened team for the upcoming trip to White Hart Lane, in a bid to keep his star players fresh for the European Final – should they make it.

They face Celta Vigo in the second-leg of their semi-final at Old Trafford on Thursday night, having rested a number of key players in the 2-0 defeat to Arsenal last time out.
