Paul Pogba: Pundit can’t believe ‘surprise’ Man United development

Paul Pogba will not be signing a new contract at Man United despite his “surprise” return to the lineup.

That is the view of former Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, who was speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 28-year-old midfielder.

Pogba has started three games in a row for Man United since returning to the side earlier this month, including the Red Devils’ match against Southampton today.

The France international, who is out of contract at the end of the season, had missed 14 games with a hamstring injury.

According to Marca (9 February), Paris Saint-Germain are targeting Pogba ahead of a potential free transfer during the summer window.

Kenny claimed Pogba intends to leave the club despite his reintroduction to the side.

“For me, it’s a surprise that he’s come back in,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.

“He’s looking like he’s going to leave on a free. If you don’t sign a contract by now, that’s what your intentions are.

“But Man United are struggling, and the manager is looking desperately to find the solution. Pogba is obviously still an option for him and he’s chosen to put him in that team.”

The 2018 World Cup winner is set to depart Old Trafford for the second time, having come through the ranks at the club before his move to Juventus in 2012.

Pogba has made a total of 222 appearances for the Red Devils.
