West Ham summer signing Said Benrahma could be in line for his full debut against Aston Villa tonight, according to Paul Robinson.
The former Spurs and Leeds United goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, claimed David Moyes is adopting a similar approach with the 25-year-old to that of Jarrod Bowen when he first arrived to the London Stadium.
Benrahma is yet to start for the Hammers following his deadline-day move from Brentford and was an unused substitute in the 1-0 win over Sheffield United last time out.
Despite his just 19 minutes of Premier League action so far this term, Moyes revealed that the Algerian attacker was his signing when speaking to Sky Sports earlier this month.
Robinson is adamant Benrahma was signed to be a regular starter at the London Stadium.
“He has waited for a while now but we saw David Moyes do exactly the same with Jarrod Bowen,” he told Football Insider.
“We speak so often about Marcelo Bielsa wanting his players right and ready. Moyes has adopted a similar approach with his players and with Bowen it paid dividends.
“He has done it with Benrahma as well but when you bring in a player like that it can only be a matter of time before he is handed a start.
“He is not there to be a squad player and tonight could be the night.”
