Paulo Bernardo, Arne Engels react to Nicolas Kuhn as ‘Celtic braced for offers’

Paulo Bernardo and Arne Engels reacted to Nicolas Kuhn’s latest message as speculation swirls around the winger’s future at Celtic.

The 25-year-old has produced the best numbers of his career to date, notching 21 goals and 15 assists in 51 appearances as the Hoops lifted the Scottish Premiership title and impressed in Europe.

He even scored the opener in the heartbreaking 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich in the Champions League round of 32, and Brendan Rodgers will have ambitions to go further next season.

Only bettered in goal contributions by Daizen Maeda, Rodgers could end up losing one of his biggest stars this summer, with Football Insider understanding that Celtic are braced for Kuhn transfer offers.

The manager is keen to keep the entirety of his squad together ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, but nonetheless, rumours continue to fly around Celtic Park.

Nicolas Kuhn celebrates a fine season at Celtic Park

Taking to Instagram (3 June), Kuhn wrote: “What a season. Special moments. Thanks for the support,” gaining likes from Alistair Johnston, Joe Hart and Leeds United‘s gem Harry Gray.

Bernardo replied, “What a player,” while Engels commented with an exhaling and side-eye emojis, and Luke McCowan said: “Haircut,” with a love heart eyes emoji.

Brendan Rodgers in need of flawless transfer window

Football Insider verdict

The 52-year-old manager was extremely honest about his disappointment during the previous transfer window at Celtic Park, with Kyogo Furuhashi never replaced in the final third.

Had a signing come in to fill the gap left by the forward’s unsuccessful move to Rennes, the Hoops may have made it even further in the Champions League.

The upset caused by the frustrating winter transfer window prompted concerns over Rodgers’ future as Celtic manager, with Ally McCoist telling Football Insider that he could have his head turned again.

Rogers Celtic stats

Football Insider understands that Celtic are prepared to back Rodgers in the summer transfer window, which could be of vital importance after Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises’ takeover was confirmed at Rangers.

The race for the Scottish Premiership title could really heat up next season, but the Hoops’ main ambition should be reaching even further in European competition and proving what Scottish teams have to give.

Celtic have more than enough talent to prove themselves on the bigger stages, but if the board are open to bringing in more fresh faces, it could be a very exciting season ahead for the Hoops.
