Pedro Neto, Joao Pedro react to ‘beautiful’ message from Wolves ace Joao Gomes
Chelsea’s Pedro Neto and Brighton’s Joao Pedro reacted to a message from Wolves star Joao Gomes on social media.
Gomes was linked with Liverpool and Man United during the January transfer window, having been one of the few shining stars in a dismal side.
However, Gomes committed his future to Wolves at the start of April by signing a new contract until 2030.
The deal will complicate a move this summer, and Liverpool may be forced to consider alternative signings, with the Reds desperately keen not to lose both the 24-year-old midfielder and Matheus Cunha in the coming transfer window.

Joao Gomes sends message to Wolves fans ahead of Tottenham clash
Ahead of the game against fellow strugglers, Tottenham, Gomes posted a series of images to Instagram with a tongue-in-cheek caption, which reads: “Beautiful weather in Wolverhampton.”
The post was liked by former Wolves man Neto, and Gomes’ Brazil teammate, Pedro.
Wolves need to find solution to arrest steady decline
Football Insider Verdict
Wolves are contending with the difficult truth that, year-on-year, they are getting worse, and it is a slide that needs arresting now.
Since finishing 10th in the 2021/22 season, the Old Gold have finished each season lower than the last, culminating with a likely 17th placed finish this year.
During that time, Wolves have lost managers and key players. Maximilian Kilman was not sufficiently replaced, having joined West Ham in the summer, whilst Ruben Neves and Matheus Nunes‘ departures have left a gaping hole in the centre of midfield.
| Wolves recent seasons | Finishing place | Points |
| 2024/25 | 17th (currently) | 32 |
| 2023/24 | 14th | 46 |
| 2022/23 | 13th | 41 |
| 2021/22 | 10th | 45 |
This coming summer, more departures seem inevitable, and whilst there have been several tidy transfer deals done in recent years, including the recruitment of Gomes from Brazil, the Old Gold are now required to replace gaps in their side that have existed for several seasons.
The hope will be that finishing so close to the relegation zone will spur the Wolves board into action in the coming transfer window, or else a return to the Championship could be a very real possibility next season.
