Pedro Porro, Micky Van de Ven react to Tottenham’s Mohammed Kudus announcement

Tottenham stars Pedro Porro and Micky van de Ven reacted to the announcement of Mohammed Kudus’ arrival in North London.

The Ghana international was a man in demand this summer, in spite of suffering a down season with West Ham last term.

The 24-year-old registered nine goal involvements in the 2024/25 season, down from the 20 he provided in the season prior.

However, that did not stop many of the Premier League’s top teams showing an interest, as Newcastle and Chelsea were both linked with a move for Kudus this summer.

The former Ajax man is the fifth arrival at Tottenham this summer, after Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel’s loan deals were made permanent, Luka Vuskovic joined having turned 18, and Kota Takai was signed from Japan.

Kudus and Van de Ven set for reunion after coming to blows

Kudus and Van de Ven were involved in a heated exchange last season when Tottenham and West Ham met in October 2024.

Despite scoring in the 18th minute, the winger lost his temper in the closing stages of a 4-1 loss and became involved in a confrontation with several Spurs players, and was shown a red card.

However, Van de Ven seems keen to put their differences to one side as he and teammate Porro both liked Tottenham’s announcement of Kudus’ signing on Instagram.

Mohammed Kudus could match Bryan Mbeumo output

Football Insider Verdict

Kudus is just one season removed from scoring a career-high 14 goals and under new boss Thomas Frank, the Ghana international could smash that total.

The Dane has made a career out of getting the best from his attacking talent, often bringing his wingers closer to goal in a bid to have them more involved in the final stages of an attack.

Under Frank’s stewardship, Man United-bound Bryan Mbeumo scored 20 times in the Premier League last season.

The former Brentford boss has also turned Premier League rejects such as Ivan Toney and Ollie Watkins into England regulars, highlighting his stellar abilities when it comes to coaching attacking players.

Kudus endured a tough season in East London last time out, but with Dominic Solanke to play off and with Porro overlapping, the 25-year-old will be given the chance to focus on what he does best, cutting inside and looking for a goal-scoring opportunity.
