Pedro Porro reveals Mohammed Kudus’ playing position at Tottenham in new message

Mohammed Kudus’ starting position at Tottenham Hotspur has already been implied by Pedro Porro after his move from West Ham United.

Tottenham completed their first headline signing of this summer’s transfer window with the £55million acquistion of West Ham’s Ghana international, after converting several loan moves into permanent deals.

Kudus’ form at the London Stadium last season was a significant downturn from his first campaign at West Ham, but Tottenham were still willing to pluck one of their rivals’ star players amid a public dispute.

Thomas Frank‘s new-look side is slowly taking shape after his switch from Brentford to succeed Ange Postecoglou, and Kudus’ arrival came two days after defender Kota Takai moved from Kawasaki Frontale.

Kudus to become ‘Porro’s winger’ after Tottenham link-up

Paul Robinson has previously told Football Insider that he expected Porro to be one of several players who would leave if Tottenham missed out on Europe, but their Europa League success prevented this.

Porro has been joined in Spurs’ defence by Kevin Danso, Luka Vuskovic and Takai ahead of next season, but the Spaniard is instead looking forwards after Kudus’ arrival at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Frank’s players have returned to Enfield for pre-season training, and Porro welcomed Kudus to the squad with a message on Instagram to suggest that the pair will be linking up on the right-hand side next term.

Kudus posed for a photograph with Porro on the latter’s Instagram story (16 July), as the full-back said: “Mohammed Kudus – my winger”.

Tottenham to step up transfer plans after Kudus confirmation

Football Insider Verdict

Porro’s post suggests that he and Spurs’ new signing will have the right flank to themselves next term, but that won’t be entirely popular with Brennan Johnson after his Europa League-winning goal in Bilbao.

Further changes are set to be made to Tottenham’s attacking setup under Frank as they press on with an attempt to sign Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest, despite Evangelos Marinakis’ protests.

Yoane Wissa also remains a target as Frank plans a massive £200m spending spree, and with Kudus and Porro’s places on the right flank seemingly assured, it will be fascinating to see how the rest of Tottenham‘s new team takes shape.
