Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Gabriel Jesus will not be in contention to play in the FA Cup semi-final clash against Arsenal.
The news comes as a huge boost to the Gunners’ chances of reaching the final, with Jesus on superb form and even keeping Sergio Ageruo out of the Man City first team before he fractured his metatarsal.
Originally, the 20-year-old was estimated to miss two to three months of action when he broke down in the Premier League clash with Bournemouth in February.
However Guardiola was quoted by injury expert Ben Dinnery on his personal Twitter account as saying he’s “short” of recovering in time for the showdown at Wembley.
Gabriel Jesus is expected to miss the FA Cup semi-final: “Two weeks? I think he’s short," said Pep following the win over Hull. #MCFC

Jesus scored three goals and bagged two assists in just his first five appearances for the Citizens after he secured a January move from Palmeiras.
Aguero has scored in each of his last five domestic appearances for City, however, and will still pose a huge threat to Arsene Wenger’s side.
The Argentina international scored against Arsenal in the 2-2 draw in February.
The Gunners have won two of the last three FA Cups which has seen them become the competition’s joint-most successful club alongside Manchester United with 12 wins.
If Arsenal get to the final a London derby will await against either Tottenham or Chelsea.
