Pep Guardiola green lights Omar Marmoush exit at Man City, Premier League clubs to pounce on last-minute twist
Omar Marmoush could yet leave Manchester City before the upcoming 2 February transfer deadline.
The Egyptian forward netted his second Premier League goal of the season in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Wolves as he earned his first club start since November, with Erling Haaland starting from the bench.
Manchester City fans have been frustrated at Marmoush’s lack of football this term, after the Etihad Stadium outfit shelled out £59million to sign him from Eintracht Frankfurt in the winter window of 2025.
Pep Guardiola has played his cards close to his chest regarding the 26-year-old’s future in recent weeks, but his hand is now on the table, and it represents a positive twist for several Premier League sides.

Pep Guardiola opens the door for Tottenham and Aston Villa
Former Everton and Aston Villa chief executive Keith Wyness recently told Football Insider that he backs Tottenham to seal a move for Marmoush in the January window, with the North Londoners showing a sustained interest in the City star.
Aston Villa have also been linked with the attacker of late, as the pair of Premier League rivals prepare to potentially go head-to-head as they pursue a deal with Guardiola and Co.
The Citizens have previously been unreceptive towards the suggestion of a potential sale of Marmoush, but that has now changed, with Guardiola understood to have given the green light to his exit, according to Turkish outlet Sabah.
Super Lig giants Galatasaray are also chasing the out-of-favour forward, who has just seen his future take a major twist, despite his goalscoring exploits this weekend.

Guardiola has left the door open for a last-minute deal to be struck ahead of the upcoming deadline, and both Tottenham and Villa will surely be ready to pounce after their recent interest.
Omar Marmoush a victim of Erling Haaland insanity
Marmoush got a rare start ahead of Haaland on Saturday, but that was only because City were facing a home game against the Premier League’s bottom club.
The Norwegian’s form has been nothing short of insanity once again this term, as he already has 20 goals from just 22 Premier League games, and six from seven games in the Champions League.
The 25-year-old arguably starts for every single team in world football at the moment, and it is hard to deny the fact that Marmoush has become a victim of his teammate’s success since his move to England.
He hit the ground running after his move to City last year with seven goals in his opening 16 league games, but that hasn’t even been enough to earn him a regular starting spot this term.
Marmoush will surely have an inner concern that he will never truly be able to usurp Haaland as the team’s starting striker, and while he can operate in other positions, City have continued to strengthen throughout their attacking unit.
It is surely in his best interests to try and get away from the Etihad as soon as possible, especially since his manager now seems to be open to the idea of a move.
