Pep Guardiola ‘is coming to the end of his time at Man City’
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed Man City boss Pep Guardiola is likely to quit the club “in the next year or two”.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – insisted the Spaniard will want a “fresh challenge” and “doesn’t want to go through the motions”.
Guardiola, who has entered his ninth season as City boss, is out of contract at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
The serial winner had been linked with the England vacancy but Thomas Tuchel has now signed a contract in the role until 2026.
City have won six Premier League titles under Guardiola’s stewardship – including in each of the last four seasons.
The legendary boss has insisted publicly that he has not made a final decision on his future.
Guardiola will ‘want a fresh challenge’ and leave Man City, says Wyness
However, Wyness insisted he has come to the end of the road at the Etihad Stadium.
He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “I think Pep is getting towards the end of his time at City.
“All the signs are popping up which suggest he is a little bit unsettled.
“He always strikes me as someone who doesn’t want to go through the motions.
“He’ll want a fresh challenge. He’s had a lot of success with City, he’s done it all.

“Just to keep repeating it, I don’t think that’s the fresh challenge he’s after.
“I think we’ll see him leave in the next year or two.”
