Pep Guardiola to make ‘massive’ Man City decision soon – Stefan Borson
Pep Guardiola is likely to make a decision on whether or not to sign a contract extension at Manchester City in the next couple of weeks.
That is the view of former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider it would be “massive” for the English champions if the Catalan decides to remain at the Etihad for at least another year.
Guardiola’s current deal with Man City is set to expire at the end of this season after spending the past eight years with the club.
Football Insider revealed on 18 October the 53-year-old is now likely to sign a new one-year deal at the Etihad.
Pep Guardiola still considering Man City contract offer
But Borson believes the fact there hasn’t been anything announced yet means Guardiola is still considering whether to agree a new contract.
“It would clearly be massive if he does sign,” Borson told Football Insider.
“I’m sure they will take whatever they can get, whether it’s one year, two years or whatever. I think we will see soon enough.
“I guess the fact that it hasn’t yet been confirmed means that it isn’t done if it is going to be a one-year extension.
“I would still think he’s undecided for the time being.
“We know historically that the decision has tended to have been made in early November in previous times when he’s been running out of contract length.

“I would expect it to happen one way or another in the next couple of weeks probably.
“It’s very big for City if they can hold onto him for another year.”
