Pep Guardiola ‘to sell Rodri in next transfer window’ as Man City fans rage

Man City fans have taken to social media in fury at Rodri’s comments on a potential move to Real Madrid.

Fabrizio Romano relayed comments made to El Larguero by the star midfielder where he indicated he would “have to listen” if the Spanish giants came in for him.

He responded to the potential of a future at the Santiago Bernabeu with: “When Real Madrid call you, the best club in history and the most successful… it makes you proud and you always have to listen……It’s obvious. You always have to pay attention.”

The Spanish midfield ace who was pivotal in City’s 2023 UEFA Champions League triumph – scoring the decisive goal in the final against Inter – has also been a key figure in their domestic success.

In addition to his club success, Rodri was recently crowned the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner over current Real star Vinicius Junior, a testament to his phenomenal performances on both the domestic and international stage.

However, with these comments about a return to La Liga, many fans are unhappy and even suggest his long-term future at the club could be in doubt.

Man City fans fume at Rodri over Real Madrid comments

Man City fans have taken to X to express their outrage with the 28-year-old midfield star for being a “traitor” to Pep Guardiola’s side.

The Catalan manager, who just renewed his own commitment at The Etihad, is even tipped to move his crucial midfielder out of the club, having previously bombed out other star men such as Joao Cancelo.

With the reigning Premier League champions already without the 28-year-old due to his ACL injury some supporters suggest he shouldn’t return and a replacement should be signed instead.

And for their part, fans of the 15-times European champions seem equally furious at the prospect, after his Ballon d’Or win at the expense of Vinicius, branding him a “thief” and a “back-pass merchant”
