Permission granted: Fulham agree deal to sign Ballo-Toure – sources

Fulham have agreed a deal to sign AC Milan defender Fode Ballo-Toure, sources have told Football Insider.

Ballo-Toure, 26, has been given permission to hold talks with the west London club over a move to Craven Cottage.

The left-back has two years left on his contract in Milan after joining from AS Monaco in 2021 for around £4.7million and has made a total of 26 appearances for the club.

Ballo-Toure was not called up by head Stefano Pioli for the Serie A club’s pre-season tour of the US and is no longer considered as part of the club’s project.

The defender was brought in as a back up for first choice Theo Hernandez but hardly featured for Milan last season, playing just 650 minutes across 14 appearances.

Ballo-Toure failed to impress when he did feature for Piolo’s side but has been unable to impress the coaching staff enough to cement a place in the team as they look to move him on this summer.

Now the Italian side are eyeing up potential replacements for the left-back, with Basel youngster Riccardo Calafiori reportedly a top target.

It is believed AC Milan are waiting to get the Senegal international off the books before commencing talks for Calafiori.

Fulham are in the market for a new left-back to provide back up and competition for first choice Antonee Robinson.

Following last season’s tenth place finish, the Cottagers are looking for reinforcements in an effort to push further up the table next term.

In other news, Fulham finalise one deal and ready to sign second forward.
