Phil Foden and Liam Delap react to James Trafford announcement at Burnley
Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford drew a reaction from Premier League stars Phil Foden and Liam Delap with his post on social media.
The former Man City goalkeeper has won the Championship player of the month award after not conceding during the entirety of January.
Since making a pact with minority investor J.J. Watt on 28 December, that would see the former NFL star come out of retirement to play for Trafford’s favourite team the Cincinnati Bengals, Trafford has kept a clean sheet in every single match.
Trafford saved two penalties against Sunderland, in an astonishing match on 17 January to keep his clean sheet run alive.
In fact, the last time that he conceded was 21 December in a 2-1 win over Watford, meaning Trafford has kept a clean sheet in nine consecutive games.
Trafford had been linked with Tottenham before the transfer window opened, and Spurs may want to revisit that deal after Antonin Kinsky gave away a penalty against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semi-final.
Man City and Ipswich stars react to former Etihad teammate
Foden made headlines for a dig at Gareth Southgate before City’s crucial Champions League match with Club Brugge, but the England international took the time to show his former Sky Blue teammate some love on Friday (7 February).
Trafford posted a picture of himself holding the player of the month trophy on his Instagram, captioned simply: “Player of the month”.

The picture was also liked by Delap, who came through the City academy with Trafford, and other Premier League stars Tyler Morton, Jarell Quansah and Conor Bradley.
Burnley set to break records under Scott Parker
Through 31 league games this season, the Clarets have only conceded a staggering nine goals, as Scott Parker looks to achieve promotion through defensive solidity.
The next best defence in England is that of Championship table-toppers, Leeds, who have conceded 19 in the same amount of games.
Trafford already holds the record for most clean sheets for Burnley in a single season, with 21, and there are still 15 matches to go.
Watford and Preston currently share the record for fewest goals conceded in a Championship season, with 30, a record Burnley look set to smash.
However, Parker’s style of football has not been without its critics, as the lack of offensive potency has amounted to Burnley already drawing 10 games 0-0 this season.
