Phil Foden reacts to Marcus Rashford’s message after Aston Villa fans plea

Marcus Rashford was left ecstatic in his latest social media update as Aston Villa secured their place in the FA Cup semi-finals.

Unai Emery’s side booked their place at Wembley after beating Preston 3-0 in the FA Cup on 30 March with Rashford netting his first goals for Aston Villa with a well-taken brace before Jacob Ramsey sealed the victory.

Rashford’s opener came from a perfectly timed run into the box, meeting Lucas Digne’s low-driven cross to slot home. His second was a confidently dispatched penalty, marking a breakthrough moment in his loan spell.

Aston Villa fans have urged for the club to sign Rashford permanently, impressed by his immediate impact since arriving in January.

For now, though, the winger shared his excitement online, reflecting on a crucial night in Villa’s cup campaign.

Aston Villa push for permanent Marcus Rashford deal amid Barcelona interest

The 27-year-old pasted on Instagram with multiple photos from the match and said: “I am buzzing to finally get my first Villa goals and help the team progress to the semi-finals. Happy Mother’s Day & Eid Mubarak to everybody around the world celebrating.”

His post attracted plenty of engagement, with Phil Foden and Declan Rice among those leaving likes, while Emi Martinez and Digne responded with emojis.

Despite Rashford facing criticism for his underwhelming performances with England, his club form has been a different story, earning widespread praise for his impact at Villa Park.

Mick Brown, former Manchester United chief scout, revealed that Aston Villa are already working to make Rashford’s loan move permanent.

Barcelona had shown interest in Rashford during the January transfer window, but no deal materialised. However, the Spanish giants remain keen on the forward, meaning Villa may face competition for his signature.

Given his strong performances and immediate influence at the club, it’s no surprise Villa want to secure his services for the long term.

Aston Villa target Hayden Hackney in summer transfer battle

Aston Villa continue to strengthen under Emery and have shown their willingness to invest, especially after the success of Rashford and Marco Asensio.

Looking ahead to the summer window, Football Insider has revealed that Aston Villa are battling Tottenham to sign Middlesbrough star Hayden Hackney.

The 22-year-old is regarded as one of the best midfield talents outside the Premier League, with Villa long-term admirers of his abilities.

Back in October, Football Insider revealed that Aston Villa were considering a buy-to-loan deal for Hackney, and with the club’s impressive form and their track record of developing young talent—such as former Middlesbrough player Morgan Rogers—a move to Villa Park could be an enticing prospect.
