Phil Foden has sent Man City fans a clear message after the defending Premier League champions wrapped up 2024 in winning ways.

The Premier League giants defeated Leicester City 2-0 at the King Power Stadium to end their run of five games without a win.

It has been a difficult period for Pep Guardiola’s side as they have only won twice in their past 14 matches across all competitions.

Foden was pleased with the result as he posted a message to the fans saying, “Ending the year with a win.

“Thanks for your support throughout 2024.”

Foden played an impact in the result as his strike from outside the box was parried into the feet of Savinho for a tap-in, with Erling Haaland wrapping up the result in the second half.

Foden has come under fire throughout the season from City fans due to the drastic drop-off in his performances.

Last season’s PFA Players’ Player of the Year has struggled to maintain the same level that he set for himself so far in this campaign.

The England international has scored four goals and provided two assists in 21 appearances across all competitions.

City currently sit fifth in the Premier League table and are 14 points behind current leaders Liverpool.

Guardiola’s side will kickstart 2025 against West Ham United on Saturday (4 January).
