Phil Neville is desperate to see Everton sign a new winger in January after losing Yannick Bolasie.

Bolasie is set to miss the rest of the season after suffering a long-term knee injury, with just 16 Toffees appearances to his name following his £30million summer switch from Crystal Palace.

Posting on his personal Twitter account, former Everton star Neville called on Ronald Koeman’s to sign a wide man “with pace” in January when asked what is the Toffees’ priority.

Bolasie, 27, suffered the knee injury during the 1-1 draw against Manchester United, as he overstretched for a loose ball that saw him land awkwardly.

With Bolasie arguably Everton’s most creative player this season, the Toffees have suffered losses against Watford and Merseyside rivals Liverpool.

Koeman has been left with Aaron Lennon, Gerard Deulofeu and Kevin Mirallas to fill the void on the flanks, and has even resorted to playing on-loan striker Enner Valencia out wide.

With plenty of money to spend under cash rich owner Farhad Moshiri, Koeman is likely to spend big in January as he looks to return his side to the form that saw Everton win five of their opening six games.

Just two wins in their last 13 league and cup outings have seen the Toffees plummet down the Premier League table, as well as being knocked out of the EFL Cup and a winger could be the perfect remedy to stop the rot.

In other Everton transfer news, this 27-year-old could be on his way to Goodison Park as Koeman contemplates a swap deal wit Tottenham.
