Former Premier League centre-back Matthew Upson has been pictured training with West Ham as he aims to keep himself fit.
As reported by the Mirror in their Wednesday edition of the transfer blog (14: 23pm), Upson is seen training with the Under-23s alongside wantaway playmaker Dimitri Payet.
Frenchman Payet is looking to leave the London-based club as his former club Marseille are interested in bringing him back to his homeland.
Sky Sports claimed on Wednesday afternoon that the Ligue 1 club are preparing a third bid for the 29-year-old after having a bid of £20miilion turned down.
One the other hand, Upson is currently a free agent after leaving now League One outfit MK Dons during the last campaign.
The two-time Premier League winner has a wealth of experience, playing for the likes of Arsenal and Brighton.
He made 289 appearances in the top tier of English football while representing the Irons in 146 games in all competitions.
Upson also earned 21 England caps, scoring on two occasions for his home country, both against Germany in separate World Cup qualifiers.
Slaven Bilic’s side are sitting in the bottom half of the Premier League table following their crucial win against fellow league strugglers Crystal Palace last Saturday.
They have struggled at the back this term, conceding 35 goals in 21 league games, including five at home to Arsenal.
