The picture that every Celtic fan has been waiting for

By Abigail Withey

A photographer has pictured Manchester City starlet and ex-Hoops loanee leaving Celtic Park this afternoon which suggests a move is very close.

Craig Foy, a photographer for reliable communication company SNS, tweeted his original picture of the 20-year-old on his personal Twitter account on Monday afternoon.

The Scottish photographer, who is followed by a number of reliable journalists as well as Celtic defender Calvin Miller, revealed the picture that every Celtic fan has been waiting for with the caption: “A smile on his face, Patrick Roberts leaves Celtic Park this afternoon.”

The picture will delight fans who have called for the club to re-sign the former Fulham academy star after he made a huge impact during his loan spell at the club.

Roberts joined the club back in February 2016 and progressed on to make 60 appearances across all competitions where he also found the back of the net 17 times and provided 21 assists.

His efforts at Parkhead were a huge driving force behind the club’s domestic treble success last season, and Robert’s would surely hit the ground running upon his suspected return.

The Daily Record reported that the Man City youngster is due to join Celtic again on a year-long loan  and the Hoops apparently forked out a huge fee and wage package in order to secure the winger.

In other Celtic transfer news, the club have agreed to sell a defender to a top-flight club.
