Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could be bombed out of Chelsea this week after new development – Agbonlahor

Gabby Agbonlahor has insisted Chelsea and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will part ways “as soon as possible” with a move to Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, or the United States possible.

The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 33-year-old has been “harshly” treated but is “not the same player” any more.

Chelsea revealed their Champions League squad on Friday (3 February) and Aubameyang was omitted from the team for their knockout stage games this month.

January signings Enzo Fernandez, Mykhaylo Mudryk and Joao Felix were all added to the squad.

As quoted by Sky Sports (3 February), manager Graham Potter insisted that it was a “tough decision” to leave Aubameyang out as he has done “nothing wrong”.

The English transfer window closed last week (31 January) but clubs in the United States, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates remain open – with the latter two set to close on Wednesday (8 February).

The former Arsenal striker has been linked with a move to MLS side Los Angeles FC.

When asked if there is any reason to keep the Gabon international at the club, Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “Not at all.

“Aubameyang will want to leave as soon as possible, and Potter will want him out as soon as possible.

“I feel for him, because he signed to play under Thomas Tuchel.

“It was harsh for Aubameyang.

“But he’s not the same player either. And that will happen with age. He’s in his 30’s – and he’s lost a yard of pace.

“I think his next move could end up being a Turkey, a UAE, or an MLS.

Chelsea

“I’m sure Chelsea won’t want someone at the club who is unlucky.

“They’ve brought in two new options, Fofana and Joao Felix – and that’s who will be getting the minutes.”
