Piers Morgan raves about Celtic senior man after Dermot Desmond revelation
Arsenal-mad TV presenter Piers Morgan has raved about Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers after he was tipped to be one of the candidates to replace Arsene Wenger at the Emirates.
It was confirmed on Friday that Wenger will end his 22-year-long reign in North London at the end of the season with some reports claiming on Saturday that the Frenchman was in fact sacked by the Gunners board.
SkyBet have Celtic senior man Rodgers as the 4/1 second-favourite to replace Wenger at the Emirates after majority shareholder Demot Desmond stunningly revealed to Sky Sports that he would not stand in the Northern Irishman’s way if the Premier League giants came calling.
Most Arsenal fans do not seem keen on the idea of getting in Rodgers, however Morgan does, and he believes that he would be a great fit to replace Wenger.
“Rodgers is a much better candidate than many seem to think. Done a great job at Celtic,” he said on his personal Twitter account.

Rodgers has won every domestic competition available to him since replacing Ronny Deila at Parkhead in 2016. He also took Liverpool close to lifting their first Premier League title and established Swansea into a top-flight side. Rodgers is a brilliant manager and is massively under-rated just because of one poor season at Anfield. Rodgers would be brilliant at Arsenal, but Celtic fans had better hope that Desmond at least puts up some kind of fight to keep him. At the moment, it doesn’t sound like that is the case.
