Piers Morgan sends ‘nasty’ message to Erling Haaland after Arsenal bust-up

Arsenal fan and TV personality Piers Morgan has called Man City striker Erling Haaland a ‘nasty piece of work’ after their 2-2 draw on Sunday (September 22).

Haaland, 24, opened the scoring in the ninth minute with a superb finish past David Raya in the Arsenal goal.

Arsenal summer signing Riccardo Calafiori then equalised with a superb curling effort from outside the box before Gabriel put the visitors ahead with a bullet header from a corner.

All of that hard work was then undone when Leandro Trossard received a second yellow card for kicking the ball away.

With their backs against the wall, Arsenal parked the bus but Man City eventually broke through in the 98th minute thanks to John Stones.

Once the game was finished and opposing players went to shake each other’s hands after a hard-fought game, Haaland repeatedly told Mikel Arteta to ‘stay humble’ before swearing at Gabriel Jesus.

Morgan, 59, was less than pleased with the Norwegian’s attitude and took to X, formally known as Twitter, to let him know what he thought.

The North London club have been criticised for their ‘gamesmanship’ in recent weeks with the Spaniard having embraced his inner Jose Mourinho as they seek to finally lift the Premier League title.

They next face a League Cup tie against League two side Bolton in what would be a superb opportunity for Arteta to add to the single FA Cup he’s won as Arsenal manager.
