25-year-old mainstay is a liability: Three things we learned from Rangers in win v Aberdeen
Bates back with a bang
David Bates played his first game of the season, replacing the injured Bruno Alves, and he had a fine game, particularly when you consider that his partner at the back, Danny Wilson, had to be taken off injured at half-time.
Bates helped to repel the Aberdeen pressure when they pulled the score back to 2-1, and was coolness personified as the game moved into a frantic finale.
Bates can be delighted with his performance and it will be interesting to see if he keeps his place in the team next week
