Bags packed: Tottenham reach agreement in principle for first summer signing as ace to jet in - report

Davinson Sanchez is ready to jet in and sign for Tottenham after they reached an agreement in principle with Ajax, according to a report.
The Evening Standard claim the centre-back is primed to fly to London later today (Thursday) and become Spurs’ first signing of the summer.
It is said that Tottenham may eventually pay close to £40m for the 21-year-old Colombia international, which would make him comfortably their record signing.
It would exceed the £30million spent on Moussa Sissoko and Erik Lamela.
The Standard report that Sanchez deal has been delayed by debate over the exact structure of the payments but these are now said to have been resolved.
Sanchez was omitted from the Ajax squad that faced Heracles last Saturday night after telling coaching staff he was not in the right frame of mind to play.
The south American defender has been targeted after making a huge impact at Ajax following his £3.8million transfer last summer.
Chairman Daniel Levy has come under fire from fans and Danny Rose for failing to make any signings so far this summer, but Tottenham remain confident they will land at least three new players before the transfer window shuts.
Spurs fans could be forgiven for feeling underwhelmed at signing yet another rock-solid centre-back. They already have three of those in the outstanding Toby Alderweireld, the mighty fine Jan Vertonghen and the improving Eric Dier. Sanchez certainly represents an upgrade on Kevin Wimmer, who is in advanced talks to join West Brom. But there is a sense that Sanchez is not the player who is going to help Spurs make the leap from second best side in the country to the first. Certainly not this season.
In other Tottenham transfer news, the club are to finalise a £45million-valued signing today after terms agreed.
