Rangers player ratings v Partick: Attacker struggles, midfielder could be a gamechanger

By James Black

Rangers could only manage a 2-2 draw at Firhill against Partick Thistle in the Scottish Premiership on Friday.

Rangers lost their captain, Lee Wallace, to injury after 12 minutes, meaning a debut for loan signing Declan John.

The Gers opened the scoring through Alfredo Morelos before two goals in ten minutes gave Thistle the lead.

Chris Erksine was sent-off for the hosts in the second-half for a horrendous tackle on Alfredo Morelos as Rangers tried to get back into the game.

Former Norwich midfielder Graham Dorrans then scored a spectacular goal from the edge of the penalty box to set-up a frantic finish to a pulsating game.

Thistle managed to deny Rangers a winner as the Gers failed to win an away game for the first time this season.

The Gers return to Firhill on Tuesday night in the quarter final of the League Cup and Pedro Caixinha’s side will need to perform much better if they are to make the last-four.

So, how did the Rangers players rate on Friday night, including an attacker who is far from the finished article?
