The Rangers captain picked up an apparent groin injury and could face a race to get fit in time for next Saturday’s Old Firm clash at Ibrox.
Wallace will be a big miss for Pedro Caixinha’s side if he is out long-term although Welshman John should be an able deputy.
Tuesday’s return to Firhill to face Thistle in the League Cup will almost certainly see Wallace missing regardless of the severity of his injury.
