Player who joined West Ham over Everton this summer could come back to haunt David Moyes

Nuno Espirito Santo is set to name his first West Ham United lineup when his side face Everton away from home on Monday.

Football Insider revealed that Nuno’s first match in the West Ham dugout was set to come in the away fixture against the Toffees on 29 September.

The former Nottingham Forest boss is tasked with turning the East Londoners’ fortunes around after Graham Potter’s disastrous tenure.

Forest have been on poor form since Ange Postecoglou replaced Espirito Santo, who fell out with the City Ground club’s hierarchy.

West Ham ace Callum Wilson boasts an incredible goalscoring record vs Everton

David Moyes’ Everton wanted to sign striker Callum Wilson in the summer transfer window, but he joined West Ham instead.

Wilson has notched one goal in five Premier League appearances for the London Stadium outfit, which came in their 3-0 victory over Forest last month.

Moyes is vying to haunt his former club, West Ham, but the Toffees should instead be concerned by the 33-year-old’s goalscoring record against them.

Wilson has scored eight goals in his last seven Premier League games against Everton, which have come from four braces.

Ironically, the former Newcastle United man has only scored more goals in the top flight against his current club than he has scored against the Merseyside outfit.

Callum Wilson has previously praised Everton

Even though West Ham summer signing Wilson‘s Premier League record shows he loves scoring against the Toffees, he has previously heaped praise on Everton.

When the Toffees suffered points deductions in the 2023/24 season, Wilson said on the Footballer’s Football Podcast: “The fans live, breathe and sleep their football club and to see it slipping away slowly is where the frustration lays.

They just want a team to try hard and give everything they can. I hope they get out of it. They are a big club. I enjoy playing at Goodison Park. Fingers crossed they get themselves out.”

The former Bournemouth man is now set to play his first game at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and will want to retain his strong record against the Blues.
