West Ham fans have been reacting on social media after being linked with a move for Stoke City winger Xhedan Shaqiri, according to a report in Football.London.
The Potters attacker has caught the eye of a number of Premier League clubs and despite being relegated from the top-flight, the Swiss international continues to be a man in demand.
It’s plausible that the Hammers board would be more willing to make a move for the 26-year-old due to the fact that he has a £12.5million relegation clause in his contract.
The Irons are also being linked with a move for his teammate Joe Allen, who will attract offers in the region of £20million, according to reports.
You’d think that eight goals and six assists in 37 games from the 26-year-old would make him an appealing option at the London Stadium where he would link up with Marko Arnautovic and Manuel Lanzini and cause chaos for opposition defences.
But despite the player’s form, not all fans were sold on the idea of bringing the player to the capital, questioning whether his attitude and work rate would be up to scratch.
Here is a selection of Twitter reactions from supporters reacting to Shaqiri:
Please nooooooo, another bloke who goes missing on too many occasions

Just what we need another lazy player with a bad attitude. We need workers and we need defense or was I watching a different team last season? FFS
