Mauricio Pochettino has joked that Tottenham may have to change their plans for a visible tunnel after the recent Manchester Derby incident.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Pochettino suggested that Spurs’ idea to have a “Tunnel Club” may need to be changed after a scuffle occurred between Manchester United and Manchester City.
The Tunnel Club would allow fans to see players before and after the match, and the tunnel is where the apparent altercation between the Manchester clubs happened.
“The tunnel is with glass, big glass like the bank, very safe,” stated Pochettino.
“But now yes, City and Tottenham, maybe (have to) paint it black, or at half-time, curtains – before the game, open, half-time, closed.”
The Tottenham boss even joked that fans would have to pay double if they wanted to have the suggested curtains opened.
While White Hart Lane is being redeveloped, Spurs are playing their football at Wembley, and are next in action at home on Wednesday against Brighton.
Tottenham won their last game, 5-1 against Stoke City, to record their first win in five league games.
The poor form has seen Spurs fall 18 points behind the league leaders Manchester City and three points off Burnley who occupied the last Champions League qualification spot.
A victory against Brighton could see Tottenham move above Burnley due to having a superior goal difference.
In other Tottenham news, Pochettino should snap up this goal machine if Spurs want to win the PL title.
