Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has been a brilliant servant during his six years with the club, but manager Mauricio Pochettino must seriously considering binning him this summer.
The club captain one of the more senior players in the Spurs dressing room and has been an extremely consistent performer during most of his time in the Premier League.
However, the 31-year-old has seen a few mistakes creep into his game during the past 12 months and made a number of high-profile error along the way that have cost the North London club.
Lloris has always been considered one of the Premier League’s top goalkeepers due to his excellent shot stopping and also distribution out from the back.
It may be difficult now to rank him alongside the best in the English division and there is a suggestion that he is only going to regress.
He is currently away on international duty with France at the World Cup and is the number one option for his nation.
Pochettino should lay down the gauntlet to Lloris to fight for his Spurs future by proving himself at the World Cup and that could reignite his best form.
However, if he fails Spurs need to ditch loyalty and begin sniffing around for potential upgrades in goal next season as they go in the hunt for silverware.
In other Tottenham transfer news, they have joined the hunt to sign a £18million-rated playmaker.
