Leeds centre-back star Pontus Jansson aired his delight on Twitter on Friday evening after agreeing a permanent deal with the club.

It was confirmed by the Yorkshire giants’ official Twitter account on Thursday evening that the 25-year-old had agreed to a permanent switch after starring on loan from Serie A side Torino.

He has enjoyed great success with the Yorkshire giants to date and has become an instant fan favourite as well as being integral to Garry Monk’s back four.

Supporters are delighted their star man will complete a permanent move to Leeds in the summer, while Jansson also shared his joy on his personal Twitter account on Friday.

“Proud to say that I’m a Leeds-player. Thanks for all response, really means all to me”, wrote Jansson before telling fans that he would see them in Sunday’s clash against Huddersfield.

Jansson has featured in Monk’s defence 23 times in all competitions this season, building a solid partnership with fellow loanee Kyle Bartley.

The Sweden international has been key to the Leeds team picking up all three points in some matches and on Wednesday he showed his class by scoring a late winner in the 2-1 victory against Blackburn.

Fans will now be hoping to see a lot more from their main man with Huddersfield coming up next in their quest for promotion.
