Premier League legend digs at Man United under Ruben Amorim – ‘Where? Where have they improved?’

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has yet to be convinced that Ruben Amorim is the manager to take Manchester United forward.

Man United’s 2-2 draw at Spurs extended the Red Devils’ unbeaten run to five matches in the Premier League to move them up to seventh in the table.

Amorim has been under severe pressure at Man United, though that has been easing recently due to the up-turn in form.

The Portuguese boss has been at the helm at Old Trafford for a year now, and had an unsuccessful first season in charge when the club finished 15th and missed out on European football.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink takes swipe at Ruben Amorim

Speaking to Sky Sports, [12 November], former Chelsea striker Hasselbaink cannot see where the club has improved under Amorim’s leadership over the past year.

I don’t think they have improved. Where? Where have they improved?,” Hasselbaink asked.

They have not scored more goals; they have not had less goals against. They have not won any trophies. Yes they have been in a final in Europe but lost against a poor side.

He’s got a lot of work to do, a lot of work. I don’t think they are creative enough not like they used to be.”

Amorim can continue to build Man United momentum

Amorim is steadily building momentum at Man United, with just a point separating the Red Devils and fourth placed Sunderland.

Lisandro Martinez’s return to training could mean a return to action for the Argentine defender in the next few games in a major boost for Amorim.

The club have a favourable run of fixtures, without European commitments, before Christmas where Amorim will be confident of continuing their current good form.
