Premier League sack race turned on its head after more fatal twists: Fabian Hurzeler, Arne Slot, Oliver Glasner latest
Fabian Hurzeler is considered the favourite to receive the sack next in the Premier League after a stunning week.
On Wednesday, Thomas Frank was sacked by Tottenham after yet another disappointing defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The Dane was the latest in a line of Premier League sackings this year, that was, until the very same night.
Just hours after a goalless draw with Wolves at the City Ground, Nottingham Forest announced that they had sacked Sean Dyche.
Vitor Pereira appears set to take over at Nottingham Forest, who will become the first Premier League club to ever employ four permanent managers in one season.
Fabian Hurzeler leads sack race
Hurzeler is coming under mounting pressure at Brighton after a string of disappointing results.
The Seagulls are without a Premier League win since the start of January, and handed Crystal Palace their first three points in two months when they lost 1-0 at home last week.
Fans have begun to tire of Hurzeler‘s tactical decisions, and with Brighton now edging close to the foot of the table, decision-makers are paying close attention, too.

The German is expected to be given time to turn his team’s form around, but the loss of the fans will be a damaging blow.
Eddie Howe had been a strong contender for the sack himself after Newcastle United‘s loss to Brentford last week, but Tuesday’s victory over Tottenham appears to have stopped the bleeding, for now.
Arne Slot and Oliver Glasner also remain involved in the conversation, especially the latter after Wednesday’s disaster.
Palace gave up a two-goal lead to Burnley at Selhurst Park, with the visitors winning in the Premier League for the first time in over three months.

For now, however, one major bookmaker has named Hurzeler the leader of the sack race at 6/4, leading Glasner (5/1) and Slot (6/1).
Roberto De Zerbi return may trigger twitchy fingers
At this stage of the season, a permanent replacement for a sacked manager is not easy to source.
For that reason, many clubs would prefer to wait until the summer before pulling the trigger.
The sudden availability of a desirable manager may change that, however, and Roberto De Zerbi‘s departure from Marseille could see action taken.
The Italian enjoyed a strong tenure at Brighton previously, and has already made his aim to return to the Premier League clear.
